Fyxation Mesa 61 Pedals

This is a preview of the Fyxation Mesa 61 pedals that Nick from Fyxation dropped off a couple of weeks ago for us to check out.

The Fyxation Mesa 61 Pedal is very similar to Fyxation’s other Mesa offerings in size, with a modified shape, but is made from 6061 Aluminum for more aggressive fat-bike riders looking for a solid platform with excellent grip from the 10 replaceable pins on each side of the pedal. (Regular readers of this site will know that we really like the Nylon Mesa pedals!)

Mounted up on the Tatanka test bike, initial rides showed me that the Mesa 61 works well with a variety of winter boots and hiking shoes that I typically wear in the colder months. The platform is wide and stable and the pins grip well.

The sealed bearing and DU bushing on the a cro-moly spindle are like the other Mesa pedals we’ve been using for the past year or more and have found to be well sealed and reliable on all kinds of rides from beach to trail to snow. Give us a few months and we’ll see how these fare!
