Wallpaper Wednesday – John Wayne Trail in Washington

washington-fat-bike-wallpaper-1920-1440

Rusty sent in this shop of his custom Surly Necromancer on the John Wayne Trail in Washington, part of the Iron Horse State Park. He says a couple of weeks ago we put in 54 miles with 4,200 feet of elevation gain over two days, and rode 2.2 miles through the Snoqualmie Tunnel. It was an incredible trip, and a perfect shakedown cruise for the Pugs, on which I hope to do many more voyages of discovery. Enjoy!

Really cool, kind of strange that the front wheel is larger than the rear wheel though. Also, where are the frame bags? Panniers are for wussies.

Gee … I never really thought of myself as a wuss. I used panniers AND a frame bag on my successful Great Divide ride (border to border) this summer. Needed them to carry the 14 liters of water (plus full camping gear) through the drought stricken deserts of NM.

I guess that makes me extra-wussie.
    Thanks for the education.

Oh … Yeah … that was my bike featured in last week’s Wallpaper Wednesday.

    To each his own!
