Yesterday I met up with Zito and Puck and a couple of the port crew to ride Klode beach up to Doctors Park, where Sprecher Brewing and the Milwaukee Parks Department had a mobile beer garden set up. It was a very wet and wild, few miles of beach with about equal time riding and walking in the frigid waters of Lake Michigan. I can now comment about how my Shimano XT rear derailleur performs underwater. We stopped in to the mobile beer garden and all got a pint and then headed back towards Klode with a few more pints along the way, till we were feeling moderately groovy.
I’m sharing all of this with you, because this week’s contest requires you to guess the exact weight in kilograms of Otis the morning after all of this FUN took place! Are there any full beers left in my pack? I’m always on the lookout for pretty rocks when I ride the beach. Are there any in my pack? We did get a free pint glass at the Sprecher Beer Garden. I will tell you that I’m carrying a repair kit, a Mountain Morph pump and a 24 x 3 tube among other essentials. I didn’t wear a pack on Sunday, so everything that I packed out on the ride is still in the frame bags….except for my camera.
