Fat Tire Festival is back at the Loaf for the third year and it's gearing up to be better then ever. With a newly designed race course, free fat tire bike demos and our second annual Frozen Fattie Adventure ride, make your reservations now and join us for a weekend of Fat Tire Fun!

The 3rd Annual Fat Tire Festival returns to the Loaf February 11th & 12th. We have once again teamed up with our friends at CR NEMBA to bring you a weekend of Fat Tire fun!

Fat Tire Race

New for 2017, the Sugarloaf fatbike race will be hosted at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center, home of our winter Nordic skiing network. The race loop will be approximately five miles in length, consisting of roughly 75% singletrack, and 25% groomed nordic ski trail. The final course layout will be dictated by snow conditions and temperatures, which are ever changing in New England! Our intention is to provide a high quality course that will lead to a fun and positive race experience.

Mens & Women's Long Course - 18-20 miles
Race Start Time: 9:00AM

Men's & Women's Short Course - 9-10 miles
Race Start Time: 9:15AM

Frozen Fattie Adventure Ride

The Frozen Fattie Adventure ride returns on Sunday, February 12th. Join this guided group ride for a fun day of fat tire biking on the local trail network. The group will stop at a Maine Huts & Trails backcountry lodge for a hearty lunch and warm-up session. The exact route will be determined day of by ride leaders based on trail conditions and group rider ability levels. All riders must be in good physical condition and able to ride for a minimum of 4 hours.

Guided and Unguided Fat Tire Bike Demos

Thanks to our generous partners, we are once again able to offer Free Fat Tire Bike demo's on Saturday, December 11th from 9AM-3PM on The Beach. All users must have a valid drivers license and credit card. All riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

NEW Guided Night Ride (Weather dependent)
New this year, our friends at Carrabassett Region NEMBA will be leading a guided night ride on the Carrabassett Valley Trail system. Time and ride length will be determined day of, please check in at the CR NEMBA tent located on The Beach on Saturday, February 11th.
