Can we participate as a free agent on a team if we can’t field enough to make a team?

Wondering about team selection as well.

    • George Kapitz January 24, 2012 at 10:20 am #

Yes you can participate as a free agent. If you have a fat bike you have the option of being a captain. You do not have to own a fat bike to participate in this race, you will be selected in the draft by a captain. The race will be setup a lot like Lake Geneva Race, but it will be the first team to complete 20 laps. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

      Thanks,
      George

How many miles is each lap?

    • George Kapitz February 1, 2012 at 3:31 pm #

Due to conditions.. The lap will be shorten to 1.5 miles.

So you state 4-6 person teams. Are you breaking results down in categories? Obviously 6 riders can complete 20 laps quicker than 4 riders of equal ability.

We put together this event in under 3 weeks and it’s our first one. So we aren’t completely organized. I apologize. After doing some calculations with the weather changing the course, I believe we will try to organize 4 person teams.

If we have a team already we do not have to take part in the draft correct…..we can come own with our own team and ride our own bikes? Just clarifying?

    Thanks

Yes, you can show up with your own team and own bikes and will not have to participate in the draft. If you’re not sharing bikes you do not have to use flat pedals.
