Wallpaper Wednesday – Alaskan Corn Harvest

Burntski (Brian Burnett) took this photo of his hound Wolfie, last week, at about 3,000 feet in the Western Chugach Range. Here’s what he had to say about his epic day!

“The ride takes off from The Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood, AK and travels out the Nordic trails then onto the Chugach Powder Guides cat ski road and up into their permit area. Normally I can only go to this little cabin about 2,000 feet up valley, but this day the corn crust was perfect for climbing (both pedal & hike-a-bike) and I made it to the top of Notch Mtn at the top of the cat area. If you look close in the picture, the top station of Alyeska Ski Resort is in the photo. The water in the background is the Pacific Ocean, Turnagain Arm in Cook Inlet. It was an epic day to have a fat-bike and be in the mountains. BTW, we have received over 70” there in the last 4 days. We are going to be riding in the snow well into July or longer!

Cheers! “Burntski”
