The concept and design was outside of my mental box. Box just got stretched. I like it.

A cautionary tale – never leave a Big Dummy and a Pugsley in the same room for too long 😉

what shifter does it use to operate the int hub gear?

Gilles Berthoud (machined in France) shifter for Rohloff. Compatible with 22.2 or 25.4 handlebars. A single ring has to be replaced (concentric ring for 22,2 bar; eccentric ring with room for brake cable housing for 25.4 road bar). The whole shifter has to be disassembled to go over the bended part of a drop bar and reassembled in position.

I believe you can also get split dropped bars that use the standard shifter. The bars come in two halves and join with a special stem – can’t for the life of me remember who makes them! Nice concept, cant wait to read your write up.
