Our amigo, Yann from Salamandre Cycles, in France, Sent us these two shots of a fat-tandem with couplers that he made for a client named Christophe. It was first intended to be a travelling tandem with 26×1.75 tires. But due to Christophe being the happy owner of a custom Vagabonde fat-bike, they came up with the idea to make it compatible with the fat-bike wheels of the Vagabonde. Both bikes are designed for a Rohloff internally geared hub. The result is this wonderful dream machine (with dream colour). Christophe and Pascale can choose either slim wheels for long road trips or fat wheels, for omni-terrain, around the house or further. And if Christophe wants to ride alone, he puts the fat wheels back on his Vagabonde.

Fat Bikes might have been crafted for the snowfields of the northern hemisphere, but they’re as equally at home on loose trails, muddy tracks and sandy beaches……….and that’s where they’ve captured the attention of Aussie […]

Beautiful and harmonious looks like this bike
Excellent job. I have been a tandem enthusiast for 17 years. I own a single fatbike which I love. We love tandem off-road mountain biking so I can appreciate the build. Although I don’t yet have a fattie off-road tandem our full suspension tandem has the widest tires I can accommodate with 2.5″ rear and 2.70″ front also with a Rohloff hub. You will get years of fun with your tandem.
