Reader’s Ride(s) – Robert’s Fatback

Robert recently sent us an email saying he would love to see his ride featured on our site. Thanks, Robert! Here you go!

Robert says – “It surely isn’t the sweetest Fat Bike every built but it is mine and I am gonna ride the HELL out of it. I currently live in NJ and for those that don’t realize, the riding out here is as good as anywhere. Sure, the climbs aren’t massive but they are big enough to keep you honest. One of the reasons for the build was to use this on beach but considering how nice it is I don’t know if that is gonna happen. Probably gonna be strictly dirt and build another with an internal hub and stuff I have layin around for the beach. Fattys Forever!”

Here are the Bits of it:

  • Fatback 20in frame
  • Fatback Full Carbon Fork
  • Truvativ Carbon Noir Bar (Blue)
  • Race Face Trubine Stem 50/60mm
  • Sram X9 Shifters
  • Shimano SLX hydraulic brakes 160mm f/r possibly switch to 180 or 200 up front
  • Selle Italia Seat
  • Thompson Elite Seatpost and Clamp
  • Sram X9 Crankset
  • Sram XO FD
  • Sram X9 RD
  • Sram 10spd Cassette
  • Sram Chain 1070
  • Shimano XTR pedals
  • Surly Larry and Nate Tires
  • Surly Large Marge Lite Rims
  • Hope Fatsno Hubs F/R

Have you got a fat-bike that you’d like to see gracing the pages of this here website? Say no more and send an email, with photos, to! We’d love to see your rig!

Oooh, she’s lovely. I guess my Fatback should get a good bath and a photoshoot of her own soon.
