NEW – Jade Cycles Fat Rim & Hub

One of our readers sent me a shot of his Jade Cycles Ti Fat-bike last month. To get some background on the bike, I contacted the owner of Jade Cycles, Jim Degracia and found out that they had lots of new fat-bike goodies in the pipeline. Jade is located in Holland Michigan, right across the big lake, from Kilwaukee. Jim just came back from the Taipei Bike Show with a batch of their new rims and hubs that he’s been working on over the past year. You get to see the first look at what will be some exciting new choices for folks looking to build up a new set of wheels.

They come in black and as you can see, weigh in at 624g for the pair (190mm/135mm). The front and rear hubs are convertible for through axle and yes there is an XX1 cassette body option. Front Axle converts for: 15mm, 20mm thru axle & Standard QR – Rear Axle converts for: Standard QR or 12mm thru axle. 32 or 36 spoke versions and 6 bolt rotor mounts.  (32’s are in stock now).

MSRP – Shimano hubset: $275 – Sram XX1: $290 (Includes QR Skewers)

Jade is also working on 100mm wide, carbon rims that will be available some time this summer. I’ve made plans to meet with Jim and do some beach riding, in April, so stay tuned for a more detailed report about everything that Jade has in the works!

Just know you are removing a protective barrier (paint) against the salt if you ride on driven roads at all.
