45NRTH Press Release

Bloomington,MN – 45North is continuing in its mission to push winter cycling innovation further than ever before with the release of VANHELGA, the first fat bike tire designed as part of a tubeless ready system.

“Carrying forward from the success of the Hüsker Dü and Dillinger, the next step for 45North was to bring greater performance and control to our fat bike tire technology with tubeless,” said David Gabrys, 45North Brand Manager.
Designed with winter trail riding in mind, VANHELGA’s four-inch wide footprint provides optimal traction in loose snow conditions. An aggressive tread pattern consisting of 6.5mm tall, triple- siped lugs works to shed snow and maintain superior traction and control while accelerating and braking. A dual compound rubber extends the life of the tread in the center of the tire while enhancing cornering control on the sides.

“Our objective with the VANHELGA tubeless bead profile was to introduce it as part of a tubeless- ready system, so we partnered with Whisky Parts Co. on their new No.9 carbon rim project to create the first tubeless-ready fat bike system.”

The extra-wide and smooth bead surface eliminates small gaps where air can leak between the bead and the rim shelf, while also creating a secure fit that allows riders to run super low tire pressures with confidence and control.

For the ultimate in traction and control, VANHELGA will be available in both a 120 tpi and 60 tpi casing in September and will retail for $155 and $125 respectively.
