Sarma just announced the very first Carbon Fiber 29+ Rim to hit the market! The new Naran 29+ is tubeless ready – 50mm wide and weighs a mere 450 grams! If you were thinking about building a set of summer wheels for your fat-bike, these rims could be a game changer.
The following is from the news release from Sarma –
FEM optimised (Finite Element Method):
How do you find the best formula for carbon layouts with the best stiffness/durability and optimal weight?
Special 3D modeling and analysis software, coupled with skills from the aerospace industry.

Unified walls:
Unlike most carbon rims, the manufacture of this rim has no post process cutting or machining of the bead hooks, thus none of the individual carbon fibers are disrupted or severed. The end result? No weight restrictions (okay there is one, but it’s generous) and only 450 grams at 50mm wide!
Improved web and bead seat:
The new design results in a smooth inner rim surface, for better seating of tubeless tires and increased durability, less material and increased stiffness.
