If you’ve been perusing this site for a while you may remember a Reader’s Ride story about “The Fat Pearl” from Burnsey who runs the Single Speed Pirate website among other endeavors. Well, he’s branched out a bit and is now living in Fort Collins, sharing shop space with none other than James Bleakely of Black Sheep Bikes fame and has taken to making bikes himself under the Oddity Cycles name. Oddly enough his current 29+ ride is a creation he built himself.
The handmade steel frame uses super short 16-3/4” chain stays and Burnsey says “The Orange Crush rides like a Baja Truck with NOS. Most fun bike I’ve ever laid my taint on. Rolls over obstacles with ease – this is my daily driver. Singlespeed as are all of my rigs. Even more fun than one of my other fatties, the Fat Pearl! Weighs in at a mere 21 lbs as she sits.”
