Sven and I are at Sea Otter and we began our trip with the folks from Rocky Mountain Bikes for their launch of the Sherpa! The Sherpa is a dual suspension B+ wheeled machine designed and built for the rider that wants to explore. The overland rider is someone that RM describes as the kind of rider that commonly needs a GPS beacon on their adventures and the Sherpa is specifically designed for that application.
The front triangle is RM’s Smoothwall Carbon Fiber and features a Tibetan snow lion graphic and the rear is their Form Alloy 7005 Aluminum. They matched a new Manitou Mangnum 27.5 fork along with a McLeod rear shock. with a 2 x 10 drive train that can handle tires as wide as 27.5 x 3.25.
The Sherpa is made to be ridden, loaded with gear, in the backcountry. Supple suspension coupled with big volume B+ tires and a wide range of gearing give the Sherpa the ability to take a rider almost anywhere!
We’re going to have the opportunity to ride the sherpa at Sea Otter so stand by for a full report a little bit further down the trail. For Now….start dreaming about where this platform for adventure could take you….
