Chapter 5 – Borealis Fat Bikes  – Colorado Springs Colorado

P1160448The last stop on my Field Trip to the West was to Borealis Fat Bikes and the Fat Bike Company in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Borealis is in the process to moving into their new, much larger, facility. I met the CEO of Borealis, Steve Kaczmarek, at their current shop in beautiful downtown Colorado Springs and got the full tour. Sven had visited Borealis almost a year ago at their old digs. You can read all about his visit here. Since I’d never been to either location before, Steve showed me around both spots and also showed me some sweet new products that will soon be released. Steve is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but now lives out in Colorado.

Secret – Never Been Seen Before – Spy Photos of the Rim Room

Speaking of Secrets…..last Tuesday, Borealis leaked a photo of their new fat bike, the Crestone. I was able to get a ride in, on the new bike, during my visit. Steve and I rode from the old shop to their new facility and back. Borealis is working on some other great collaborations, components and OE partnerships that will delight riders that pursue the best of the best. Borealis is even working with their local search and rescue organization to adapt fat bike wheels to their back-country litter for better patient comfort and all-terrain capabilities.

Steve has built Borealis on the guiding principle that the very best quality and performance, never go out of style. You can look forward to more coverage and a review of the new Crestone and with all of the bells and whistles that Borealis has up their sleeve, coming soon. Till then, if you want to see a spy shot of the new Crestone, you can visit the Borealis Facebook Page and get a sneak peek.
