Interbike 2018

Interbike 2018 moves from Vegas to a brand new venue at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. We scoured the show in search for items that would interest our readers. Let’s take a stroll around the Interbike show floor and have a look!

Burley’s new Coho XC trailer won a Eurobike Award and we’ll be testing one very soon. Burley has developed their own Q/R and Thru-Axle trailer mount with a trailer yoke that adapts to all of the various hub widths with no need to bend the tubes or use tools. Look for our review coming soon.

The Maxxis Moosetraks is back from obscurity. When I asked when they would be available the Maxxis Rep got that panicked ‘deer in the headlights’ look in his eyes and said he didn’t know when they’d be available but promised to get back with more information about when they’d be in stores.

The Moosetracks tread pattern looks quite promising. As soon as they’re available, we’ll get a pair into the hands of our test crew.

Vee Tire had their entire line of fat-bike tires on display. I recently read that Vee was expanding their production due to US Tariffs on bike tires made in China. Vee is in Thailand. We may see more Vee Tires spec’d as the industry tries to adapt to the trade situation.

Kenda showed us a new 20 x 4.0 fatty called the Krusade and their 26″ Juggernaught

Innova (the factory that makes Surly’s tires) had this Gossan 26 x 4.8 moderately knobbed beauty in their booth. This is probably one of those instances where US consumers will never see these available at their bike shop, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Park Tool has fat-wheel building and truing covered with their TS-4 truing stand. We reviewed this guy last year.

J&B has a new Black Point branded fatty along with a fat-trike that just screams pub crawler in their booth.

Pro-Tec is the only helmet that Yeti Von Evil wears

Green Guru had a fatty all decked out for copious hydration. Sven reviewed a couple of GG’s bags recently.

Green Guru’s prototype fly fishing bag. They’ll have a Kickstarter for this beauty coming soon.

Bike Studs offers screw in boot and tire studs. I’ve been using the boot studs for 4 years now. Great addition to any fat-bikers bag of tricks!

Hope had a Bucksaw all decked out with their bike jewelry

Do you need to get your hitch rack out of the way? It looks like this accessory from Kuat could be used with any 2″ receiver hitch rack. We might have to give that a try.

KHS has a good looking line of fat-bikes for 2019

Rambo Bikes had this carcass capable utility trailer on display.

That’s a wrap here from Interbike 2018 in Reno! Vaya con bicis gordas amigos!

I had wondered if the Moosetrak had just wandered off, hope to see it in the wild soon.
