Looks like everyone got the memo to run their Fat-Bike event on February 2nd this winter. I don’t know how things are percolating in your neck of the woods, but here in the big whiskey, we have a nice layer of powdery snow and I’ve been going out to play bikes every freak’n day! Here’s a fresh assortment of events coming up in the next couple of weeks for you to peruse.
FAT FEST Fat Bike Race (MI)
Slip n Slide (WI)
This is a fun race on my home trails where I used to live down in Westosha. Great folks and really good sponsors. They just got a foot of snow!
Moose Brook Fat Bike Race – (NH)
This looks really fun! Where better for a winter race in the Northeast than in the heart of the White Mountains. Coos Cycling Club works hard to build the trails at Moose Brook. They also throw a pretty good shindig.
Moose Brook State Park: 30 Jimtown Rd Gorham, NH 03581 – Sunday, January 26, 2014
Friday Night Madison (WI) FROZEN ASSETS
Badger State Games Fat Bike Race 2/2/19
Badger State Games Fat Bike Race at the Underdown!?! Hokey Smokes Bullwinkle! This is in Wisconsin (thanks Captain Obvious!)
45nrth Whiteout – Cuyuna Lakes (MN)
Great Trails with Great Grooming!
Knickerbocker Fat Tire Ride – Lake Mills (WI)
I know where I’ll be on the busiest race day of the winter. Riding my fat-bike around Rock Lake with some amigos from the Hub in Lake Mills.
Terrene Tires – Fatbike Frozen Forty (MN) 2/2/19
The Fatbike Frozen Forty is a 20-ish (2 laps), 30-ish (3 laps), and 40-ish (4 laps) mile fat-bike race that offers a great mid-winter challenge on a course composed of 100% groomed singletrack. This is one of the longest running races on the calendar. A true classic.
BTW – I heard Fat-bikes are dead (somebody forgot to tell all of these crazy people that are having so much FUN!)
