Alain Lagace is a private floatplane pilot and was the owner of a lodge in the Torngats region for 28 years before he sold his lodge two years ago.

Alain wanted to share a new destination for the Fat Bikers who want to experience something unique. It looks like exploring the Arctic Cordillera south ecozone in Arctic Quebec and Labrador on fat-bikes is an ideal arctic adventure!
He also shared the idea behind his Fat Bikepacking trip in the Torngats Mountains serves to demonstrate to Fat Bike enthusiasts the natural scenic wonders of this remote arctic region. He’s working out the details to create a touring package to bikepack the region.

Riding a Fat Bike on postglacial landforms like the long Eskers that meander the Arctic tundra through lakes and rivers is a unique experience.

Alain explored a desert moraine valley with crystal clear lakes. The area features bare rounded mountain peaks similar to Norway. There’s a mountain lake where he came across these rock Monoliths.

Alaine explored snow tongues, through glacial valley landscapes and piloted his floatplane over waterfalls, fjords and the occasional caribou … and not a single tourist on the horizon.

That
Looks
AMAZING!
The most amazing thing is that this region has never been explored by Fat Fat Bike or by any hiker. It is wild and prestine and outside the Torngat Mountains National Park. For the summer of 2020, I am organizing an exploration trip. What to expect? Meetings with wildlife and unseen natural wonders …
In a straight line that doesn’t look too far from the UK, teleport me there!
