First Look – 2020 Kona Woo – by JP Syverud

The fine folks from Kona bikes sent the Fat-Bike Test Labs a 2020 Kona Woo fat bike for some testing. This is the overlooked middle child between their Wo and the Wozo in their fat bike line.  This model is spec’d out with SX Eagle and has a rigid carbon fork with three-pack cage mounts and even a front rack mount. There are plenty of bottle mounts and the bike is even routed for a dropper post for some rowdy riding.

The Kona Woo we received is a stunning blue turquoise color, like Kurt Kobain’s dreamy eyes.  Kona calls this color Gloss Dark Seafoam and Deep Seafoam with Glacier Blue Decals. I liked this color scheme right away.  This bike screams to be taken on some rad adventures.

The bike weighs in at an even 33 pounds with pedals. This bike retails at $2099 USD.  That’s a pretty typical price point with these specs.

Let’s take a look at the tech specs of the rig we received:

I would love to keep going on with specs and stuff, but Tio Gomez wants me to go and play with all the other Gnomes to test this whip out.  So far I’ve been impressed with its more trail inspired slacked-out geometry. I’ll be conducting all sorts of studies and research into what makes the Kona Woo Tick and I look forward to sharing a more in-depth review in the coming weeks.

Happy Trails!

Nice! I like when they come with adjustable dropouts. Have fun stormin’ the castle!

Yes. I absolutely love the Paragon drop out system. Don’t be surprised if this looses some gears for a while to test it out.

That one is their best fat(i,m not a fan of 27.5-3.8 tires on Wozo). Fork is massive but little too tall. But for this class components and aluminium frame is expensive one, IMO.
