Inevitably, some of our readers contact us about Global Fat Bike Day and aren’t shy about telling us how the date (the first Saturday in December) doesn’t make sense because of the weather and soft trail conditions. I experienced some of those hurdles at my own GFBD ride. We had to meet at sunrise (7 am) to ensure frozen trails but we found a way to make it work. Here at Fat-Bike, we’re huge fans of fun with bikes and if it would make more sense to move the date, we’re all for it. We’re basically cheerleaders for all fat-bike events that create fun and good times! So maybe the question is; how do we decide if moving the date is a good idea and what date should it be changed to? Online Survey? Please leave your thoughts in the comments.
This week’s Fat Video Tuesday is a pretty good example of why the date and/or the weather seems kind of irrelevant when it comes to enjoying some fun with fat-bikes on GFBD or any other day. The video was shot at Santa Marta Lighthouse Santa Catarina Brazil. It never snows there. Fat-Bikes are enjoyed around the world in places that’ll never see snow and that’s just another thing that we’re huge fans of around here. #fatbikefun4life
