This week’s Wallpaper Wednesday comes from a time when we could ride the shores of Lake Michigan on a hot summer day and spend the entire day riding our fat-bikes and stopping to session driftwood ramps. At the end of the ride, there’s usually a good chance for a cold beer and maybe… if you’re lucky…tacos! I found this photo of mi amigos in a set of shots in an old Flickr set titled ‘Beach Ride Bee(r) Hunt. I miss beach riding during the dog days of summer. I’m fresh off of a hot greasy gravel tour where we got to swim a couple of times. I like to use the number of times that I get to swim in a lake or river as a pretty good barometer as to how the trajectory of my recreational program is headed. So far in 2020, things under the recreational heading have been in a steadily upward direction. I’d like to find someplace where there’s still a good ten miles of beach to ride.
Here’s a pretty good excuse to go for a ride – Pack a towel and ride your bike to a lake and go for a swim and then maybe enjoy a beverage and then maybe, ride some more. It’s a pretty good foundation for having a good week.
PS – Where can we find some good beach riding?
