Panaracer Unveils 2021 Limited Edition Gravelking Colors

Pansy & Flamingo Pink
OSAKA, JAPAN (April 19, 2021) — Tire manufacturer Panaracer is proud to unveil its 2021 limited edition Gravelking Color tires. For a fourth year in a row, Panaracer has made its dominant gravel tires available in unique colors to help riders add a pop of color and personal flare to their bike builds. These single-run, limited edition colored Gravelking tires are made with the same ZSG tyre compound technology, anti-flat casing and 120tpi construction riders have come to know and trust. All Gravelking tires 32 and up are tubeless compatible as well. For 2021, Panaracer has produced a “Pansy” blue and “Flamingo Pink” tire to their line-up. Both come with a brown sidewall and will be limited to the 700 x 32 and 700 x 38 sizes  only. The color Gravelking tires will, however, be available in all three GravelKing thread patterns: the SS, SK and Slicks. “These limited edition tires have garnered a bit of a cult following in the bike scene, and it’s a fun challenge to come out with something different every year. For 2021, we choose Pansy, because it’s a really beautiful and rich color that’s also rather unique, and pink because it has been the number one requested color by Panaracer fans for a while now,” said Jeff Zell, Panaracer’s Global Go-To Guy.
Previously produced colors include mustard yellow, purple, sandstone and ivory, military and olive greens, blue, and orange. And all but a handful of these tires have long sold out. “All of our limited edition colors have done really well and sold out quickly. They are a single-run production, which means we will only make them once and when they sell out, they really are gone. So get yours before it’s too late,” encouraged Zell.Look for the 2021 Limited Edition Gravelking colors to be shipping early to mid June directly from www.panaracerusa.com, and via our distributors in North America and Europe. If ordering from the Panaracer USA site, customers can sign up to be notified via email once the tires are in stock and ready to be shipped.

Otso Cycles Waheela C gets a new fork and paint

Minneapolis, Minn. — April 15, 2021 — The Waheela C by Otso Cycles is a gravel bike that keeps on riding when the road disappears from the map. It’s known for its massive tire clearance, adjustable geometry, and surprisingly compliant carbon frame. Now it has a new fork with mounts for bikepacking cargo and comes in four new colorways.

The Waheela C was first released in April 2019 to be the ultimate gravel racing bike. It is a fast, lightweight option that can tackle any road and push for podium finishes. When most races in 2020 were canceled, many gravel cyclists turned to bikepacking for their adventure fix. The same features that make the Waheela C an excellent gravel race bike also make it an exceptional bikepacking option. With this new, popular use in mind, three bottle bosses have been added to each side of the Waheela C fork for extra storage while on backcountry adventures.

A few key features set apart the Waheela C from other gravel bikes. The first is giant tire clearance. The Waheela C can comfortably fit 700c x 54mm tires (roughly 29” x 2.1” equivalent). If sloppy roads are on the menu, narrower tires can be used for extra room for mud. Another standout feature of the Waheela C is adjustable geometry. The rear dropout uses the patented Tuning Chip that is found on all Otso bikes. This allows the rider to change the wheelbase by up to 20mm and raise or lower the bottom bracket height by up to 4mm. The longer wheelbase of the rear position is preferred for long days in the saddle on sketchy terrain, while the shorter wheelbase of the front position makes for agile handling on local trails or a CX course. The third feature of the Waheela C is the confidence-inspiring ride quality of the EPS molded carbon frame where the rider is centered over both wheels. This makes for a stable ride while moving at high speeds on loose, rocky roads and a comfortable feel when paired with the compliant rear triangle.

Also new to the Waheela C this year are four new colorways. There is Forest & Coral, Black & White, Burgundy & Red, and Matte Desert & Black. It is a simple, uncomplicated design for paint and decals that lets the color contrast do the talking. All four colorways are available as options on the Otso Custom Bike Configurator that lets customers choose from dozens of options to build a bike that matches their riding style, from wheel size, to handlebar width, to anodized color accents, to stem length, and just about every other spec that can be customized.

The Waheela C is available as a frameset for $2,550, or as a complete bike with Shimano GRX for $3,750. Find it on OtsoCycles.com and wherever Otso bikes are sold. Further details can be found at https://otsocycles.com/collections/waheela-c.

Even More GRAVEL!

Salsa released a new four-part storysite that celebrates gravel riding and the way it makes people feel—physically, mentally, and emotionally. The campaign, entitled Gravel & Gratitude, shares stories from three riders: Krystal Salvent, Leonardo Brasil, and Brooke Goudy. Photography by Adam Andres Pawlikiewicz Mesa, videography by Evan Green, and production by Jalen Bazile supports these riders’ words with visuals.
