Winter Riding in Alta Norway

Kenneth Johansen sent us a few shots from a ride along the Alta River near Alta, Norway. The river is famous for being one of the best rivers for salmon fishing in the world. Alta is in the far north of Norway. It’s situated well north of the Arctic Circle and during the polar night, the sun does not appear above the horizon until late January.

This is the brightest part of the day with just a bit of yellow light in the sky around noon.

The photo above was taken at 1 p.m. Temps are in the range of -10 to -20C.

We see incredible evidence of widespread fat bike fun all over the world and we plan to share as much of that as we possibly can. If you’d like to share your idea of what constitutes fat bike fun, send us your photos and a little bit about the who, what, when, and where aspects of your adventures, and you may see them here at the International House of Fat-Bikes – www.fat-bike.com

Send your photos to gomez@fat-bike.com with Fat Bike Fun in the subject line.
