Foto Gordo – Maah Daah Hey 100

Dan Campion sent us some shots from this year’s Maah Daah Hey 100. When it rains, the Maah Daah Hey’s Bentonite Clay singletrack turns to glue. Unfortunately for Dan, this year’s race was cut short due to rain. The Mah Daah Hey Trail is a bucket list trail for any mountain biker when it’s dry. Here’s what Dan shared about the race.

I rode my fat bike in the Maah Daah Hey 100 this past weekend.  Everything was fast and fun until it started raining and the clay became un-ridable at about mile 34.  I drug my bike to the mile 38 checkpoint and the race was canceled.  Tinker and other speed demons only made it to mile 44.

Glad I went tubeless with the new Beargrease – however, the weight savings wasn’t noticeable by the end.  Weird.  Then my support vehicle got a flat tire, 18 miles from the paved road. The Badlands kicked our asses.

Sticker it Forward

How do you like the new sticker and jersey design?

If you’d like some stickers for you…your ride buddies…or maybe the barista with the best tattoos at the local java hut… send us a photo of your local fat-bike playground and an address so the gnomes down in the mailroom can jet them, babies, to the post office. My email is gomez@fat-bike.com. Put Klunkedelic in the subject line and stay tuned for Summer Squatch news.

Hey, I think there’s some fossils in the dirt just below that bottom bracket!
    T-Rex?
