Green Bay Winter Ultra 100

I talked with the hardest work’n man in snow business, Geo Kapitz last week about the Snow Crown Race Series and they’ve really got some great things going on up there! I’ll be headed up there to interview Geo and Sarah for next month’s Danger Gnome Podcast, but we wanted to share the big news about Wisconsin’s newest fat bike ultra race. The Green Bay Winter Ultra 100 combines all of the region’s trail systems in a course that’s sure to challenge everyone brave enough to give’er a go. This is what’s in store for racers who register.

Green Bay and Surrounding Areas

January 7- February 19

You will have just over one month to complete the Green Bay Winter Ultra. A gpx file will be provided with the route. The ultra must be ridden in one day and on a fat bike with a tire width of at least 3.8″. You will need to follow park and road rules. All trail venues must be open to riding the day you decide to take on the ultra. Please email Sarah at Sarah@brokenspokebikes.com prior to your start so we know you are on the course. Headlights and taillights are mandatory! You will need to send your completed ride map file to Sarah at Sarah@brokenspokebikes.com by February 19 at midnight to be considered a finisher. This is a stand-alone event and is not part of the four-race Snow Crown Series.

Sarah, George, and their Crew will also be holding four Four Crash Course Sessions on December 6, 13, 20 & 27, 2022 Where they’ll teach you handling skills, fat bike setup, how to dress appropriately for winter temps, and more! Sessions are two hours and will start at 4pm. Registration for the four crash courses can be found in two places: after you sign up for either the Snow Crown Series or an individual race. Prior to checkout, you’ll have the opportunity to add the four sessions to your cart. Or if you just want to sign up for the four crash courses you will find it under Additional Items on the registration page.

This ride scares me. Sure I’ll do it next year!
