Premiere of a new fat bike race in Sweden!
Umeå Fatbike Race is run in the outdoor area Hamptjärnsberget, link to map . Hamptjärnsberget is located approx. 7 km from the center of Umeå and is a geographically hilly, scenic area which makes for a fun course. The start and finish take place at Hamptjärnsstugan, which also functions as a competition center with toilets and changing facilities.
The race is run on a lap track where each lap is about 6 km and consists of two loops. Four laps must be completed on the fun and challenging course. There are not many sections along the course that offer opportunities for recovery, but there is always something going on, challenging climbs, winding downhill runs and singletrack feeling in the woods. The fat bike track is drawn on a narrow ski track, which gives a great feeling. On each lap, the competition center is passed once. All this means tight action and a fun experience for participants and the audience.
The event is easy to follow on-site for spectators and all the action can be followed up close. For those who do not have the opportunity to observe the race on-site, the entire event is broadcast live for free.
