Global Fat-bike Day 2024 in Chelyabinsk, Russia

Iron Felix sent this story in from a Global Fat-bike ride in Chelyabinsk, Russia! Awesome to read about, and see photos from, folks halfway around the world doing their thing!

Hello from Russia!

In our country, fat bikers also actively celebrate Global Fat-bike Day. I want to share how this day went for our team of fat bikers from the Chelyabinsk city. For those who don’t know, it’s near the Ural Mountains.

So, on this day we gathered with our friendly company and did a small ride around the city, after which we went to the city forest. We are very fortunate to live in our city because the city forest is a protected relic predominantly coniferous woodland with various gradients of nature: from blooming meadows in the summer to small cliffs. And all of this is almost in the center of the city, so if there is no opportunity to go to trails far away, there is always an alternative.

After the day ride, we went home to rest before continuing the celebration of Global Fat-bike Day in the evening by meeting in a pub. Actually, cyclists here usually don’t gather in pubs and bars, they often organize picnics in the places where they ride. However, our team doesn’t really prefer that practice, so Global Fat-bike Day was concluded in a pleasant atmosphere of warm conversations, craft beer, burgers, and music.

P.S. Unfortunately, we were poorly prepared in terms of photo and video equipment, so the pictures are not of the best quality, and some of them are frames from videos, so please don’t judge too harshly!
