Annual watch the Dips do the Dip ride in Milwaukee.

Our annual group ride to watch the Polar Bears do the New Year’s Day Plunge into Lake Michigan was a bit chilly and windy. 25-degrees and 20-plus winds plus, as the photos show, no snow left in Milwaukee from the pre-Christmas dusting. Still, fat-bikes were a plenty!

Tony and I met up with a couple of other cyclists at The Daily Bird for the Moto Meetup. There was an eclectic mix of motos, or engine cycles, as we’ve been calling them.

After some hanging around and some street stunting we followed the moto crowd over to the Nomad World Pub.

At the Nomad we met up with the Tosa/West contingent of cyclists. Commiserating and libation were had!and we headed down to the lake with a group of 15 or so.

When we got to our traditional spot we found some other groups including the Recumbent Crew!

After the Plunge we headed to The Uptowner for a couple, some food and a DJ set by Marcus Doucet. Pretty great New Year’s Day!
