Simon at Panorama is sending the fat-bike.com test pilots one of their new, all-carbon, third-generation Chic-Chocs 3 fat-bikes. With over a foot of new snow here in SE Wisconsin the timing couldn’t be better for a full test. We can’t wait!
Meanwhile, to whet your appetite for this all new fat-bike, here are some words from Panorama’s Press Release
‘’We wanted to modernize the Chic-Chocs to bring it in line with today’s trail riding, while retaining Panorama’s own DNA. After all, that’s what has made the Chic-Chocs such a success over the past 8 years.’’ – Simon Bergeron, engineer and co-founder of Panorama Cycles.

The Chic-Chocs 3 is part of a new generation of fat bikes, offering an exceptional trail experience. Light and responsive on the way up, stable and fast on the way down, it’s designed to cover kilometers on your favorite singletracks or explore new areas on an overnighter trip to the cabin.

Previous generations of the Chic-Chocs have already proven their worth: this model has been tested on some of Quebec’s finest fat biking trails and put to test in races such as the Raid du Fjord and the Wendigo-Ultra.
The Chic-Chocs 3 is designed around a 66.5deg and 75.5deg head tube and seat tube angle respectively, 450mm chainstays, and a front triangle corrected for the addition of a 120mm fat bike suspension or a 140mm 29er suspension. Combining a narrow q-factor, lightweight carbon-reinforced construction and a long dropper seatpost (max. insertion 170mm for the medium frame), the Chic-Chocs pedals efficiently in a variety of conditions.

Features that are also noteworthy on this new edition of the Chic-Chocs: a storage compartment has been added in the downtube, complementing the 18 existing mounting points, and this model is now compatible with the SRAM T-Type drivetrain and the UDH derailleur hanger for easy replacement.
‘’As with all our models, we offer many customization options and assemble the bikes to order in our workshops. We really want our customers to have the perfect bike for their needs.’’ – Simon Bergeron, engineer and co-founder of Panorama Cycles.

The Chic-Chocs 3 is now available on the website www.panoramacycles.com. The bike is available as a frame/fork set or as a complete bike starting at $3,599 CAD (2,899$USD).

Based on the geometry and the many attachment points, as well as being able to run 120mm suspension ; I think this bike could be the holy grail of fat bikes!
