Yes! There are still fat-bike classes in WORS (Wisconsin Off-Road Series) races! Our man on the scene, Shannon Chapwesk, provided this write up.
Take it away, Shannon!

Howdy ya’ll!
If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re just as stoked about the revival of Fat-bike.com as I am—and that’s pretty sweet!
Today is Sunday, May 18th, and I made the trek up to Treadfest, the second race in the Wisconsin Off-Road Series(WORS), which is sponsored by Trek. For 2025, the series includes a total of 10 races, and I’m hoping to hit a few more throughout the season. Not to race—I hung up my number plate last year—but just to spectate, soak up the vibes, and catch up with some old friends and familiar faces from the trail.

WORS includes two fat bike categories: Sport Class and Comp Class, so you’ve got options depending on your skill level. Both categories feature some seriously talented and fast riders who can keep up with the “skinny tire” crowd. The only rule? You’ve got to run tires that are 3.8” wide or bigger.

Today’s weather was cooler than usual—probably a relief for the racers. The trails were dry, loose, and dusty since we haven’t had much rain lately. I staked out a spot at the top of the hill, where there’s a few jumps and a little rock garden. That’s also where the Treadheads, who hosted the event, set up camp with a couple of tents, music, and a keg of frosty PBR for the spectators. Big thanks to the Treadhead crew for making it a party!

Once the dust settled, here are your fat bike winners:
Sport Class
🥇 1st – Dual Lopez
🥈 2nd – Andy Rychlik
Comp Class
🥇 1st – Jon Smail
🥈 2nd – Brian Louder
🥉 3rd – Aaron Fleming
Not sure when I’ll make it out to the next WORS stop, but until then—be happy, ride bikes, and enjoy a few frosty beverages.
Cheers!
– Shannon
