I am currently out bikepacking in the Upper Peninsula, so Wallpaper Wednesday is another blast from the past with this sunrise beach ride at Klodie Park in Whitefish Bay, just north of Milwaukee, WI. The short bikepacking route I’m taking starts in Watersmeet, MI, and loops north past Bond Falls, Agate Falls, Jumbo Falls, Dupy Falls, and some lesser-known waterfalls off the beaten path.
I started recon on this route last year with my buddy Cowboy and our Omnium Cargo V3. But the summer temperatures were in the upper 90s that trip, so we cut it short. I never finished riding the second half of the route. This is my chance to finish the recon and document the waterfalls with good photos.

This time I am riding the Panorama Chic-Chocs 3. The ATV trails around Bond Falls were very sandy, and the ride north on Old 45/Paulding Road was very loose and rough. So a fat bike will be a good choice for this trip.
Besides, my sidekick, Cowboy, is recuperating after running headfirst at full speed into an 8×8 deck post while chasing a squirrel in our yard. He seems to be doing better the morning after, with a little more pep in his step. He is also going up and down stairs better, but is still moving slower than normal. Nothing seems broken, but he must have a doggy concussion and has a cut on his face that needs to heal a bit more.
I should return from this trip with a few good photos for next week’s Wallpaper Wednesday.
If some of you readers are having fat fun on the sand, send me some photos we can share with the rest of the Fat-bike.com legions, and we will mail you a sticker pack! Sven uncovered a treasure trove of old stickers in our 414 Galactic Headquarters. Just email the images to us with a little info about your bike, where the photo was taken, and share your mailing address!
