When I first installed the Quad Lock MAG Case, Out Front Pro Handlebar Mount, and Waterproof Wireless Charger on my Bearclaw Bruno fat bike, I wondered how it would hold up on long rides, in rain, and on sandy beaches. After two months of real-world riding—including a 4-day Michigan trip, a full moon beach ride, and lots of around-town miles—this setup has gone from “interesting upgrade” to “essential gear.”
If you want the original first look and install, here are the videos:
Quad Lock MAG Case
Before: Initial Thoughts
- Slightly bigger and heavier than my Peak Design case (only ~10g more, but noticeable in hand).
- More pronounced lip for screen-down protection.
- Smooth, slightly rounded profile feels good.
After: Two-Month Verdict
- Looks great after daily use—no looseness or visible wear.
- The extra lip is confidence-inspiring because I often set the phone face-down.
- Locks onto the mount as crisply as day one.
- Tighter to remove than my Peak Design case (thicker locking lip), but that’s also why dust and sand stay out.

Key features: Secure Quad Lock® interface with MAG Ring magnets · TPU/PC impact shell · Wireless charging compatible · Weight: 59–84g (model dependent).
Quad Lock Out Front Pro Handlebar Mount
Before: Initial Thoughts
- CNC aluminum arm felt rock-solid and compact.
- Easy install with included Allen wrench and spacers.
- Knurled adjustable head made dialing the angle simple.
After: Two-Month Verdict
- Still rock solid; I only loosened it once to change the angle for a selfie narration.
- The optional bottom action-cam mount held my Insta360 Ace Pro 2 perfectly—great for mixing POV angles.
- No slipping in rain or sand. Torqued initially to ~2Nm and left it alone.

Quad Lock Waterproof Wireless Charger
Before: Initial Thoughts
- Main reason I wanted this system—wireless power without exposing ports to weather or grit.
- IP67 rating inspired confidence for rain and beach rides.
After: Two-Month Verdict
- Flawless in all conditions, including a full day of rain in Michigan.
- I removed the phone 20+ times a day for photos/food stops—re-locks instantly every time.
- My 20,000mAh power bank lasted up to two days; no heat issues while charging.
- Running iPhone’s 80% limit keeps the battery topped off without stress.
- Avoids wear/tear and contamination of a USB-C port from repeated plugging in sand/spray.

Ride Test Highlights
Michigan Trip (4 days): Mixed sand/gravel/pavement and one day of steady rain. The Quad Lock mount and charger disappeared into the background—it all just worked. No slipping, no charging interruptions, easy on/off for photos.

Full Moon Beach Ride: Wind, rain, spray, and sand with zero issues. Wireless charging kept the phone topped off while I shot photos and video.
Around Town: Perfect for errands and quick rides. I leave the charging head on the mount so I can always top off the battery.

Quad Lock supplied the products featured in this long-term review. I rode with them for two months across varied conditions (rain, beach sand, city miles) before publishing my verdict. I don’t take payment for positive coverage, and I only recommend gear I’d use myself.

Verdict & Future Plans
Biggest benefit: My phone stays topped off and ready for the next photo, GPS check, or clip—without risking port damage or messing with cables in gritty, wet conditions.
Next step: On my electric cargo bike, I’ll likely use Quad Lock’s direct-to-battery cable to skip the power bank entirely.
Bottom line: If you’re starting from scratch, I recommend this system without hesitation. It’s rugged, weatherproof, modular, and proven over two months of daily use. The only thing keeping me from switching every bike is the investment I’ve already made in Peak Design accessories.
