We’re launching something new here at Fat-Bike.com—our Question of the Week series! Each week, we’ll throw out one question for the fat-bike community to answer. The idea is simple: spark stories, share experiences, and give riders from around the world a chance to connect over the gear, adventures, and memories that make fat-biking unique.
This isn’t just about us writing articles—it’s about hearing from you. Your stories, your bikes, your adventures. So jump in, share your thoughts in the comments, and let’s make this a regular part of the fat-bike.com community.

What upgrades did you make to your first fat-bike?
Every fat-biker has a tinkerer’s story. Some riders start with new grips or pedals, while others go all-in with big upgrades. When you first got your fat-bike, what was the first thing you swapped out—and why? Let us know in the comments below!
This post is part of our ongoing Fat-Bike Question of the Week series. Every week we ask one question to spark stories, tips, and community conversation. Have a thought to share? Drop it in the comments—and don’t forget to check back next week for a new question!

First thing was to go Tubeless. Then a Lauf fork.
Sweet set of 2piston XT brakes with lime green jagwire hoses!
Gotta love a brake that “just works”!
Went tubeless. Still the best upgrade to date. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Redshift suspension stem. I needed a little more length to the bike and a little more give than the 4 inch tires gave me. It adds a really nice suppleness to the ride.
