906 Polar Roll

Love long rides on your Fat Bike? The 35-mile race will give just about all you can handle. Long races aren’t your thing? Eager to get to Blackrocks before everyone else? We have a Short Race with your name on it.

Ishpeming will host the 35-mile roll-out. Racers will start in the heart of downtown Ishpeming and roll out for approximately 3 miles before reaching the first of two groomed singletrack loops – this one maintained by RAMABA (Range Area Mountain Bike Association). After completing the SBT racers will leave Negaunee by snowmobile trail and head for Marquette. Entering Marquette the race will roll into the second of the two groomed singletrack sections, this one referred to as the SBR (created and maintained by the NTN). Our Short Racers will experience just as much fun as the long race minus the SBT singletrack on the Ishpeming end. We have a few details to work out on the Short roll-out before releasing official information. Stay tuned to the website and the 906 Adventure Team Facebook page.

Nothing wrong with a little suspense, right? We have a committee that is working hard to make this a race not just for the racer but something every winter rider will enjoy. More details will continue to come together through the month of November and December as the official singletrack is established and groomed.

The good news? We already have a bunch of snow allowing RAMBA and NTN trail crews to begin grooming and mapping the singletrack trail systems. It looks like 2015 is going to be a great year for the inaugural 906 Polar Roll!

Packet Pick-up

The party and fat bike shennanigans begin the night before the race. Lets face it, you’re gonna end up there anyway, we might as well save you a stop and bring the packet pick-up to you. We’ll get there by 5:00pm and hang out until 8:00. After 8:00 we’ll still be there… but we won’t be handing out bibs.

Celebrate your race and tell some stories – there’s bound to be some interesting tales. Awards will be handed out between 6:00 and 7:00 pm. Border Grill will be on hand featuring new products they plan to roll out in 2015. Swag giveaways, good times and Blackrocks beer will await you.
