RiddleBox III

Where:

All races this year start and end at Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery (2368 Able Blvd
Inwood, IA 51240) but the majority of the races will be in South Dakota close to the town of Canton.

Race Options

We will have separate classes for men and women, as well as fat tire class (26x3.7 or wider), and skinny class (anything less than 26x3.7, 29, or 700c).

The Joker Run/Ride

We've made some changes to this race this year, mostly in the types of beverage stations that will be available during the run/ride. What to expect? Wine? Beer? Whiskey? Bacon? Sasquatch Steak?... Probably all of the above. The route option is 50K and we've decided to make it a little less race, and a little more fun. But feel free to skip the brew stations and race your heart out. We don't care as long as you have a bomb ass time. If you get back 1st, 2nd, or 3rd you're going to get a custom handmade medal that you're great grandkids will cherish. We're hoping for snow this year as last year was dry and definitely not cold enough to lose any toes, but who knows, we might have another warm one. But don't be lame and let the weather influence your decision to participate. The Run start at 9am with a cutoff of 5pm. Bikes will rollout at 10am with a cutoff of 4pm.

The King Race

Bikes only. 75 Miles. 2100 feet of climbing. This race will be mostly on gravel, with a small amount of dirt roads and paved roads. Expect a hike-a-bike or two, some closed roads, rickety bridges, and a whole lot of scenery. Race starts at 7:00am. Cut-off time is 5:00pm. This race is unsupported. You’ll need to have plenty of hydration and nutrition, your own tools and parts in case of mechanical failure, and the right apparel to keep you warm. We will have vehicles ready to come rescue you if you get in a bind.

Food/Drink

Breakfast and Dinner will be supplied by Uncle’s Eds Specialty Meats. They are a catering company here in Sioux Falls and have some amazing grub. Snacks and drinks will be supplied by Calico Skies. Calico Skies will be open all day for anyone who will be traveling with you but not racing. We will also have beer and vine available after the race. Every participant will get a free drink or two from Two Wheeler Dealer.

Post-Race:

Awards will be at 5:30pm, followed by a raffle for some awesome prizes. We will have plenty of food and drinks, and just an all around good time. We encourage you to hang around and make December 12, 2015 one of the best days of your year.

What to Bring

Both bike races are unsupported, so here's what you need:
-Helmet
-Cold Weather Gear - Who knows how cold it might be, so be prepared.
-Front head lamp mounted to your handlebar or helmet and rear red flashing light.
-Water storage - We will provide water but we recommend at least a 70oz hydration pack.
-2000 calories or more of your favroite trail food to keep your body strong.
-Spare tube/patch kit/tools
-Cell phone
-Driver's License/ID
