We recently received a set of Framed Bikes Minnesota 26×4.0″, 120TPI fat-bike tire. This tire will be standard on Framed fat-bikes for the coming season and fat-bikes are already showing up at shops with these new skins installed. In addition, they will be available for aftermarket purchase by mid-November. Let’s see what we’ve got.

The open tread pattern is directional with multi-level knobs that range in height from approximately 2mm on the low knobs to 5mm on the taller knobs. Framed Bike’s Davin Johnson told me that most of their customers want one tire that will work well in a variety of conditions so they designed the Minnesota 26×4.0 with that goal in mind.

When I mounted the Minnesotas up on rims for a few photos they felt nice and pliable and were easy to install on the Marge Lite rims. We’ll have these out on the trail and beach during the next couple of weeks and will let you know what we learn.

I would contact Framed through their website with that inquiry. I’m afraid that a matching rim might be difficult to find. This is the site – https://www.framedbikes.com/
