Our amigos from Brasil that shared an incredible look at Brazilian dune riding in Sand’n’Fatty, are releasing their second video project, as a 3 part series, that features their first introduction to winter riding, in the frozen landscape of Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec Canada. We wanna party with these cowboys! This is what Jonatha, Daniel & Nata shared with us about their latest project –
Brazilians Across Quebec: Webseries from the Fat-Bike Crossing of Lake Saint-Jean
Since 2014 the region of Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean introduced a new type of crossing of its large lake with 32km in length. In summer the lake is host to one of the major swimming competitions in the world, and in winter, with its frozen waters and temperatures below -20 ° C, the new challenge is to cross it by FatBike.
Our team was invited to participate in the 3rd edition of the event Traversee du Lac-Saint-Jean Velo in February 2016, after the impact of our video Sand’n’Fatty, exploring the dunes of Floripa by FatBike. A radical change for us Brazilians, straight from the beaches in the southern hemisphere tropical summer for the culmination of a rigorous Canadian winter – two environments as diverse but united by being the perfect habitats for the new mode of mountain bike with fat tires.
The team consisted of Jonatha Jünge, FatBiker, photographer and reporter, organizer of the FatBikeBrasil community; Daniel RootRider, videographer and producer, runs the RootRiderTV; and Nataniel Giacomozzi, downhill and enduro racer, responsible for the drone aerial images by Nata Filmes.
More than participate in the event, the trip through Quebec presented in a region rich in attractive and unusual activities (for us Brazilians!) such as spending an afternoon with wild wolves, horseback ridding in a blizzard and dogsledding.
This adventure became the webseries Brazilians Across Quebec, produced by RootRiderTV in partnership with FatBikeBrasil and Nata Filmes. There will be 3 weekly episodes released on our social networks, follow the teaser here and keep an eye on the launch dates:
Episode 1 – 12 April, Episode 2 – 19 April, Episode 3 – 26 April
See you on the trails,
Jonatha, Daniel and Nata
These guys are a hard act to follow, but I would be remiss, if I didn’t invite the rest of you to send us your fat-bike photos and videos to us to share with our readers. We have a habit of sharing cool stuff on our site. If that sounds like something that you might enjoy, drop a line to uncle firstname.lastname@example.org and next week, you might see something quite familiar come across your feed.
