Global Fat-bike Day Anchorage Report from Fatbassador Travis

I started my celebration of Global Fat Bike Day 2016 at the Cuddy Park Short Track Race in midtown Anchorage, AK. The race was put on by 9:ZERO:7, Chain Reaction Cycles, and Broken Tooth Brewing. The race was a short track, go all out for a half hour plus one lap, kind of affair. We have had a slow start to winter again, predominantly riding on ice. Ullr sent 5 inches of freshness earlier in the week. All the racers can thank Will Ross for packing the course, he was out there on Friday night dragging a truck tire around behind his bike. Race Coordinator, Mike Jipping, with Broken Tooth Brewing, brought the PA system and rocked the park again.

The Global Fat-Bike Day, Toys for Tots, group ride was Saturday night at Goose Lake Park here in Anchorage. The quasi-official count tallied up 75 happy Fat-Bikers.

I hope everyone out there in the Fat-Nation had a spectacular Global Fat Bike Day!
