Fat (video) Tuesday ♦ Glen Feshie by Illya Rudkin

Like many of my bikepacking or MTB videos before you may have gathered that we like to ride or explore the Cairngorms highland range in Scotland. This film is no different. It is a beautiful area and Glen Feshie is one of a few areas where the estate owners are actively promoting and restoring the natural Scottish wilderness. The 38km route in this video takes you through the different vistas that make the area a joy to ride. It is a mix of double track and techie singletrack. On a hot day like the day we did this ride the smell of pine adds to the sensory experience.

Much of the riding for us is to take in the views as well as finding the singletrack. The views never get dull.

From the route guide, the area as you can see is vast which inevitably means there are new slivers of singletrack to discover and explore. While looking ahead to scope the next optimum line in the rush your third eye is looking for clues for new tracks that may appear anywhere to your left or right. All trying to distract us from our intended route.  Some you win and some you get diverted only to find it stops a few meters into the trees. All part of the fun. Enough talk…the video says it better.

All the best happy riding to you all.

Love the video but there is no way they are listening to that soundtrack while riding.

Why not?! I totally would! It’s perfect 80’s high energy synth, ala Knight Rider and AirWolf! Heck, we used to go Jeeping with the theme song to Knight Rider on loop, reall sets the mood.

Awesome video as always Illya, thanks for sharing!

      Cheers!
