Spinner Ryerson is the host of our new podcast called the Burning Bike Podcast. The premier episode was recorded at Silver Lake State Park on the shores of Lake Michigan in the State of Michigan. Spinner is joined by Sven & Gomez along with two Daves and my old QQQQ amigo Robb. on a 100 plus mile bikepacking trip that started last Thursday (8/1/19).

Here’s a short photo essay to go along with the podcast from Michigan!

Just an old cat that rides bikes, herds pixels, ropes gnomes and sometimes writes stories. I love a good story.

  1. Now that was a great show guys! Felt very natural with a good friendly normal vibe to it. Good work and the trip looked cool too!

  2. Thanks fat boys for occupying my listening space with your rambling entertainment and fireside banter.

  3. Good talk. I think Lance Andre has the sub 20 lbs.unicorn you speak of. Also check out dude wipes they make touring better

  4. Hey fellas great show. Glad to hear you were able to enjoy my hometown of Muskegon a bit. It was cool hearing a visitor’s impression of so many of the places I’ve come to take for granted.

Sorry about the bad advice to ride Scenic north of Montague. Scenic South of Whitehall is nice but where they sent you..not so much. I like the idea of fat biking at Silver Lake too. Never tried it because we’re just so lucky to have a ton of good mountain biking around here. I’m thinking late fall after all the ORVs are out of there might be pretty cool.

At any rate, if you or any listeners are ever on the Michigan side of Lake Michigan and would like some route advice, or even a local to ride with a bit, reach out I’d be happy to help make your adventure a success! Especially if you’re coming directly in to Muskegon on the ferry.

Good call to stop downtown Muskegon at Pigeon Hill and Unruly! Your stop at the Tap (Marine Tap Room) should just about qualify you guys as honorary locals.
