Some of you may recall a post (https://fat-bike.com/2022/12/fatbike-to-the-cottage/) and video that I posted back in the winter of me riding to a mountain cottage I use. Well this time I made my way there in summer conditions and by a different route.
The weather here in the UK has been a bit below par these last few weeks of summer but a warm spell kicked in just in time for a 2 nighter at the cottage. That meant the scenery was going to be on top form.
I first followed a great double track which ran alongside Llyn (Lake) Crafnant and then up a 400 foot hike a bike section. From there the track had recently been re-stoned which covered the technical singletrack with the intention of allowing access for all. The scenery sure was on top form as the Snowdon horseshoe (Wales highest mountain) came into view.
After a quick lunch stop I was back on the Salsa Mukluk following ancient tracks between the hills.
The route was 16 miles but due to the climbing and hike a bike sections it felt considerably longer. A few hours later I was at the cottage where I had walked in via another route the day before to drop off some supplies (beer!).
Let the good times roll….
Another beauty! What incredible countryside.
Thanks! Yes, the scenery is pretty special tbf ????
