Wallpaper Wednesday – Forêt de l’Obermundat / Mundatwald

Today’s Wallpaper comes to us from a talented photographer named Michael Jeska. I saw this image and it captivated my imagination, so I asked Michael if we could share it here for everyone to enjoy. We’re sitting on the precipice of another ‘dog days of summer’ and I love to think about laying down in a snowdrift when things get hot a steamy! Here’s what Michael posted about his photo.

Derstenhaus, a small cabin on the slopes of the Hohe Derst, in the snowy Mundat Forest. This low mountain range was the scene of countless border shifts between France and Germany over the past centuries. After WWII it was a border anomaly and didn’t completely come back to German territory until the end of the 1980s. Today it is a part of the French national forest of Rhineland-Palatinate.
