Wallpaper Wednesday – Dark Side of the Beach

[adrotate banner=”38″]

My phone painted this portrait of my bike, Ten Beers, at Pink Floyd Rock yesterday. Things were looking pretty good with winds out of the west keeping the water nice and calm. I wanted to see how well 27.5 x 4.0 wheels handled the sand and was both surprised and impressed at the flotation that this setup displayed. Conditions were pretty firm, but I rode up as far as I could into the softer sand and this setup worked great providing excellent flotation. One ride doesn’t tell the whole story, but it’s encouraging to say the least. But on the other hand…I think my derailleur hanger is bent again. Lots of mid-cluster skipping and auto shifting going on back there. Time to try my new alignment tool. Wish me luck…

  1. Hello Gomez, where is this? How much air do you use for riding on sand? I tried a few times & kept sinking in. We were up on Park Point in Duluth.

I’m pretty useless after 3 or 4 beers. Don’t think I could make it to ten 🙁
