First Look – 2021 Kona Woo

Just in time for our first significant snowstorm, we received a 2021 Kona Woo to review. I didn’t waste any time getting the new demo bike built up and ready to rip.

The 2021 Kona Woo – Out of the Box Video

The Woo’s paint is gorgeous. The Prism Purple-Blue paint with indigo and live coral graphics changes in the sunlight and looks baller.

The Woo features a Kona Fat 6061 Aluminum Butted frame and a Kona Wo Fat Carbon fork. The wheels are 26″ Sun Ringle Mulefut rims laced to Formula Hubs with a Vee Snowshoe XL TR 26×4.8″ on the rear and a Vee Tire Snow Avalanche TR 26×4.8″ on the front.

The Wo Fat Fork has triple braze-ons for cargo cages and the frame has two water bottle mounts. The drive train pairs an SRAM NX Eagle Dub Crank with an SRAM SX Eagle 12spd derailleur. The brakes are Shimano MT401 Hydraulic Discs with 180mm front/160mm rear rotors.

All of the other components in the standard build consist of Kona’s house-brand post/seat/stem/bar/grips plus an FSA Headset. Out of the box and onto our Park Tools Scale the Woo came in at 33 lbs 10 oz with a pair of Chester platform pedals and tubes (tubeless might knock off a pound).

All of the Specifications and Geometry are over at KonaWorld.com. The MSRP of the bike that we’ll be reviewing is $2,099 USD. We’ll be putting the Woo through its paces for the next ‘month of Sundays’.

This is for mi Hermano Adam – Every Woo from the Nature Boy Rick Flair.
