This week’s Wallpaper Wednesday feature is from Gary Mikulski, aka – Coffee Powered Cyclist! This is a shot from a trip to Maine. Here’s the story behind the photograph in his own words, n’stuff…
Maine 2022 Day 5: “The Queen Stage” of our vacation. Today we headed across the border into Gorham, New Hampshire and rode a sample of Moose Brook State Park and the Coos Trail system. What a blast! This was a perfect mix of trails! Starting at Moose Brook we tackled some old-school single-track trails riding through some beautiful forests while navigating rocks, roots, and boardwalks. “Plank to Jank” was one of our phrases said here. Perkins Trail was a highlight on this side. Beautiful pine forest, a big bridge over a cascading stream, and plenty of long stretches on elevated planks. Crossing the road into the Coos Trails, things became more modern with berms and smoother trail tread becoming the majority. The trail construction and signage were top-notch as it has been throughout this region. After finishing our ride, we took a peaceful trail along the river back to the state park for another picnic lunch.
