Event Spotlight – Fatober-Fest (IA)

Our amigos from the Mitchell County Mountain Goats are throwing a fat bike party on October 1st and 2nd! They’ve got a plan for folks to ride fat bikes on singletrack. It’s a novel concept almost completely lost on the cycling industry, but something that we embrace here at the fat dash bike dot com news desk. On top of fat bikes and singletrack, the event starts and ends at Limestone Brewery! Here’s what they’ve got planned for the event.

SATURDAY OCT. 1ST – 1:00 PM
10-mile singletrack ride leaves from Limestone Brewers 518 Main St. Osage. Harry Cook
Trail, Devils Punchbowl, Pine Run, and Junkyard Goat! The ride returns to the Brewery for food
and beverages.

SATURDAY OCT. 1ST – EVENING
At your leisure Head back out to Spring Park, 3540 Spring Park Road for camping,
Bike challenges, games, and general shenanigans!

SUNDAY OCT. 2ND – 10:30 AM
“Greenbelt Grind” Approx. 10 miles leaving from Spring Park, Take in the beautiful views
along the Cedar River Greenbelt Trail for lunch at the Old County Seat restaurant,
720 W. Main Street in Mitchell, then bike back to Spring Park for departure home.
